June 4th The Bad Plus plays The Moerrs Festival in Dusseldorf Germany! Anthony Braxton and Swans and Dub Trio and Brian Blades Mama Rosa are also playing…..hell yes.
June 6th Shane Endsley of Kneebody and yours truly are doing duets at Lawrence University in Appleton WI. Come college kids!! trumpet and drums and possible special guest Bill Carrothers (second set).
June 8th THE GANG FONT returns!!! playing at The Icehouse 5th anniversary week!!! congrats Icehouse! Best venue for creative music in Minnesota. easily. COME OUT TO THIS RARE GANG FONT GIG!!

THIS MONTHS GIGS! I just finished a fun brief craig taborn quartet tour ending with a week at the village vanguard in nyc! thx to all who came out to hear! our record “daylight ghosts” is out now on ECM records! check it! THIS WEEKEND MARCH 10 AND 11 FRI AND SAT VECTOR FAMILIES (anthony cox brandon wozniak dean granros and yours truly) IS PLAYING VIEUX CARRE CLUB IN ST PAUL 9PM TWO SETS! thats the former artists quarter! come out! our debut record will be for sale in download form! hard copies available soon on sunny side records! the record is called “for those about to jazz/rock we salute you”.
then on march 14th i am playing a duet show in denver co. at DAZZLE with the wonderful trumpet master SAHNE ENDSLEY of KNEEBODY fame. shane is deep and nice and great. come out denver! i am then teaching a few master classes in denver at metro state U on the 15th with the wonderful Ron Miles and Don Byron at the helm. come out students of jazz!
then on march 25th JT Bates and I do a real bulls set at studio Z in St. Paul MN. come out minnesotans!! other than that the radio show is keep on keeping oning the current.org or 89.3 sunday nights at 9pm central. i had a busy december and thanks to all the people that came to the shows! the bad plus played everywhere it seemed! thank you! our year end engagement in minneapolis was a special highlight as usual!!!!
january has begun with a loud starting gun. on jan 2nd the chris speed trio (chris speed chris tordini and yours truly) played the stone in nyc (look for a new record from this trio in 2017) and on jan 3rd a new project with reid anderson, chris speed, tim berne and yours truly debuted at korzo in brooklyn called “broken shadows” where we play music from the fort worth jazz empire of ornette coleman dewey redman and julius hemphill!
all you rational funk fans out there please be aware THAT THE NEW SHOW HAS LANDED AT lightscameronjackson.com WE ARE SO PROUD OF IT AND HOPE YOU LAUGH AND CRY AND ENJOY. 3 YEARS IN THE MAKING!! ITS FINALLY DONE!! PLEASE ORDER IT!!

SHOWS COMING UP: After the Bad Plus tour concludes in NYC on the 21st of Nov. at Rough Trade I head back to Minneapolis and play some Thanksgiving week shows.
On the 22nd and 23rd of November my nice trio with Bill Carrothers and Billy Peterson plays the great new jazz club Crooners. The internet has details. Then on Fri and Sat the 25th and 26th I am doing my third annual “takeover” of the great club The Icehouse in Minneapolis! Friday’s show is The Dave King Trucking Company and Saturday It’s yet another return of Happy apple!
Thanks to the Icehouse for this honor 3 years in a row!!
Then the Bad Plus picks up again in December. a bunch of U.S. dates ending with our year end runs in Minneapolis at The Dakota and then on to The village Vanguard in NYC!

Hello nice people that I like so much. The Bad Plus is in the middle of our european leg of the “It’s Hard” tour right now and it’s a beautiful autumn vibe out here. I hope you are all wearing your favorite sweaters and if you live someplace warm then your favorite too small swim suits (which is a european phenomenon especially with the men and it doesn’t look good).
